Google knows when I've been sleeping and knows when I'm awake.
And they probably know if I’ve been naughty or nice.
I’m a big fan of google reader and have been using it for some time. Even when the UI was really bad and you had to ‘scroll’ through your list of new feeds. I put up with it and eventually it became really kick ass. Here’s a screenshot of the first version:

Google Reader Trends says “You read way too much!”
Wait, that’s not my point. Google knows when I’ve been sleeping because they keep trends on everything about my feeds. Like what day of the week I read the most, how many I read in a month and, to my point, what time of day I do most of the reading.
When I first launch trends it says:
From your 128 subscriptions, over the last 30 days you read 1,522 items, starred 37 items, shared 0 items, and emailed 0 items.
It makes me wonder how I can actually skim through that many items during a day… It’s no Robert Scoble, but it still seems like a lot considering I actually read most of them.
So again I’m a bit off topic.
Do I really read feeds until 11 at night and start back up at 3 in the morning? Yep.
Here’s the time of day that I read feeds. Looks like anywhere from 3 am to 11 pm:

That only leaves four hours of sleep? Hum. Kids will do that to you I guess.
Google keeps you awake to deliver you more targeted ads!
So what will google do with this info? Not sure – they already know way too much for my taste – they already scan my emails so they can deliver ads to me. Maybe they’ll control the posts that come through – get me hooked on some good articles so I stay up even longer. If they did that could deliver me even more ads.
It’s crazy. I think I figured them out. Google – soon to keep you awake longer to deliver more ads.
