about me

Speaking at SIGGRAPH Boston in 2006
I have been designing websites for about 12 years now, since before anyone really knew what they were doing online. I have been working professionally as a web designer for about 5 years and I’ve been a blogger for 4. I’ve been married for two years and have the most beautiful wife, a 9 month old daughter and a son on the way in October.
Schooling
I have a degree in Media Arts and Animation from the Art Institute of Philadelphia. There, along with studying graphic, interactive, and 3d design, I also studied traditional animation. Studying there made me finally pick up a pencil and paints and learn how to draw, something that I had always wanted to do, but never had. It’s one of the best things I’ve ever done.
Since entering into the web design profession, I’ve strived to keep up with and stay on top of the industry, which is changing ever day.
Currently
I have a full time job with a Fortune 25 investment company outside of Philadelphia and have been there for over 3 years. I was the first official in-house designer hired there.
It would seem that working day in and day out on websites that I would relax at home, but I can’t seem to ever get enough. I can’t help but to take on more work, someone always seems to track me down and engage me in a new project. What I love most about what I do is helping other people actualize their visions and I can’t imagine doing anything else.
Highlights
In August of 2006 I was invited to speak at SIGGRAPH in Boston, a leading industry conference covering new media. I spoke in front of a small audience of students and designers on my experiences entering into the field of web design.
